A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Village of LaGrange on its Sesquicentennial.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to congratulate the Village of LaGrange on its One Hundred
Fiftieth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS,
The Village of LaGrange was incorporated in 1875 and named for the
country estate of the Marquis de Lafayette. Its One Hundred Fiftieth
Anniversary is a fitting time to pay tribute to this fine
municipality, for since its inception, it has become known for its
residents’ cooperation, integrity, and willingness to work hard,
exemplary qualities that are still manifested today; and

WHEREAS,
This is, indeed, an auspicious milestone, and celebration is
certainly in order. Fifteen decades after it was founded, the Village
of LaGrange still radiates vitality, optimism, and a charm all its
own. Clearly, it is a place of many engaging qualities, and its
schools, businesses, and civic organizations both embody and thrive
upon the values of which our flag is an emblem; and

WHEREAS,
America is only as strong as her individual communities, which are
unique and which make significant contributions to the culture of our
state and nation. The One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary of the Village
of LaGrange offers its citizens the opportunity to share their
memories and experiences and to reflect on the benefits of life in
their close-knit community, for they have built on the best
traditions of the past to ensure a future filled with hope and
promise; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Village of LaGrange on
its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary and extend best wishes for peace
and prosperity in the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Village of LaGrange.
