A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the University of Cincinnati Clermont women’s soccer team on
securing the 2024 USCAA Small College Division II National
Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to commend the University of Cincinnati Clermont women’s
soccer team as the 2024 United States Collegiate Athletic Association
Small College Division II National Champion; and

WHEREAS,
A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the UC Clermont
women’s soccer team have established themselves as truly
exceptional competitors by combining talent and spirit with the
highest ideals of good sportsmanship. With admirable dedication, the
Cougars have worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency
in soccer, and as a result, they defeated a tough Christendom team by
the score of 5-0 to win the 2024 Small College Division II National
Championship, the fourth such title in six years for the program; and

WHEREAS,
The achievements and leadership of the UC Clermont women’s soccer
team are a justifiable source of pride and an excellent reflection on
the players, their families, their school community and fans, and
their coaches, Kemar Jackson and Brett Black. Indeed, in leading
their squad to victory, Coach Jackson and Assistant Coach Black have
helped these athletes to develop great talent by instilling the
valuable lessons of determination, perseverance, and camaraderie; and

WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total
education of our young people, we are pleased to pay tribute to the
exemplary athletes and the outstanding coaches of the UC Clermont
women’s soccer team for a job well done. The maturity and
experience the team members have gained through their participation
in sports will greatly aid them in meeting the challenges of the
future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud the University of
Cincinnati Clermont women’s soccer team on its tremendous 2024
season and honor the members and coaches as fine citizens; and be it
further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the University of Cincinnati Clermont women’s
soccer team.
