A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Rotary Club of Newcomerstown on its Centennial.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to congratulate the Rotary Club of Newcomerstown on the
auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the
Rotary Club of Newcomerstown, for it has attained a remarkable record
of service to the area. Since its inception in 1925, this association
has exemplified the values of volunteerism, service, and civic
engagement through such activities as creating and expanding Cy Young
Memorial Park and its facilities, hosting international exchange
students, supporting the Polio Plus initiative and youth baseball,
expanding the Temperance Tavern Museum, awarding college
scholarships, landscaping at the Newcomerstown Library, and
implementing the Fly the Flag Project. Clearly, its accomplishments
are a justifiable source of pride and an outstanding reflection not
only on the group itself but also on its dedicated members, both past
and present, on the community, and on its parent organization; and

WHEREAS,
Over the past century, the Rotary Club of Newcomerstown has enhanced
the quality of life within the surrounding area, and through its
generous contributions, it has earned the respect and gratitude of
generations of people. We are certain that as this noteworthy
organization maintains its unfaltering commitment, it will continue
in the tradition of excellence that has long been its hallmark; and

WHEREAS,
We are proud to note that it is through the unceasing efforts of
entities such as the Rotary Club of Newcomerstown that Ohio has
gained a reputation as a state that is responsive to the needs of its
citizens and has remained a pleasant place in which to live and work.
This fine group is truly deserving of high praise; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Rotary Club of
Newcomerstown on its One Hundredth Anniversary and extend best wishes
for ongoing success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Rotary Club of Newcomerstown.
