A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Jim Charters on receiving the 2025 Ivonette Wright Miller Award.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to extend special recognition to Jim Charters on being
presented with the 2025 Ivonette Wright Miller Award by the National
Aviation Heritage Alliance; and

WHEREAS,
Jim Charters’ distinguished credentials readily explain why he was
chosen as the recipient of this honor, a tribute to him for his
lifetime volunteerism in support of aviation heritage. Over the past
twenty years, he has contributed more than 12,000 hours working in
the Wright Brothers exhibits at the Dayton Aviation Heritage National
Historical Park, including guiding tours for everyone from visiting
dignitaries to schoolchildren and participating in the annual open
house at Hawthorn Hill Mansion, and he has also conducted over 350
presentations about the Wright Brothers at events throughout the
region. He is to be commended for his involvement in many significant
endeavors, helping to guarantee a high level of success for all
projects with which he has been associated; and

WHEREAS,
Whether occupying center stage or working diligently in the wings,
Jim Charters has always made his dynamic, supportive presence felt.
To his credit, he has shown how very much can be accomplished by a
conscientious, industrious person, and he can be proud that his
exceptional vision and vitality has inspired many who know him to
dedicate themselves similarly; and

WHEREAS,
Demonstrating a sincere concern for the future of the area, Jim
Charters has given back to the community far more than he has
gleaned, and his selfless endeavors stand as the hallmark of
responsible citizenship. Indeed, it is through the unsurpassed
efforts and consistent support of conscientious individuals such as
he that our state has continued to grow and prosper; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Jim Charters for exemplary
attainment and offer best wishes for ongoing success; and be it
further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Jim Charters.
