A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Akron Urban League on its One Hundredth Anniversary.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to pay tribute to the Akron Urban League as it celebrates its
One Hundredth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS,
This is, indeed, an important occasion, and it provides an ideal time
to acknowledge the exceptional work done by the Akron Urban League.
Since its establishment a century ago, the association has engaged in
an array of worthwhile activities and projects to empower African
Americans and underserved citizens of Summit County, and it can be
proud of its initiatives to deliver transformational services that
move individuals and families to economic self-efficiency; and

WHEREAS,
All those associated with the Akron Urban League are to be commended
for their foresight, dedication, and selfless donations of time,
energy, and ability far beyond what was required or expected. These
fine people have earned the respect and admiration of many and their
charitable efforts have set an example of concerned and responsible
citizenship worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS,
Founded on the highest ideals of professionalism, the Akron Urban
League has distinguished itself by its commitment to excellence.
Throughout its history, it has maintained a reputation for integrity,
innovation, collaboration, and devotion to service, and its
impressive contributions to the community readily explain why it is
so widely held in high esteem; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate the Akron Urban
League on its Centennial and salute its staff and volunteers as
outstanding Ohioans; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Akron Urban League.
