A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
Katie Moon as a 2025 World Athletics Championships gold medalist.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to pay tribute to Katie Moon on winning a gold medal in the
pole vault at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan;
and
WHEREAS,
Katie Moon has been an impressive athlete throughout her career, and
we applaud the remarkable dedication with which she has attained
ultimate proficiency as a pole vaulter. Admirably placing first at
this year’s World Athletics Championships with a mark of 4.90
meters in the pole vault, she has become the first woman to win three
consecutive world outdoor titles in this event, and her success has
been transcendental; and
WHEREAS,
Katie Moon’s accomplishments and leadership, both in and out of
competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection
not only on her but also on her family and coaches. Her unwavering
commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of
many across the communities that support her, and she is certainly
worthy of high praise; and
WHEREAS,
The prowess that has come to define Katie Moon has empowered
countless aspiring and seasoned athletes around the world. Indeed,
the experience and exemplary achievement that she has gained through
her participation in track and field will add greatly to her legacy;
therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize Katie Moon as the 2025
World Athletics Championships gold medalist in the pole vault and
look with optimism to her continued successful endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Katie Moon.
