Honoring
George W. Boas II for outstanding service to the Ohio General
Assembly.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to extend special recognition to George W. Boas II for
thirty-three years of loyal service to the State of Ohio; and

WHEREAS,
George Boas is, indeed, a remarkable individual, for he has combined
civic concern and dedication with selfless initiative to become a
dynamic asset to the Ohio General Assembly. Commencing his career in
public service as a legislative aide with the Ohio House of
Representatives in the office of C.J. Prentiss in 1993, he
served as her chief of staff during her time in the Ohio Senate. He
later held several key leadership roles within the Senate Democratic
Caucus, including finance director, policy director, and, since 2008,
deputy chief of staff and policy director. In these roles, he has
advised the Democratic Leader and caucus members on critical policy
matters, coordinated legislative strategy, supervised senior staff,
and served as a liaison to other caucuses and statewide offices. His
thoughtful leadership and institutional knowledge have been
instrumental in shaping the caucus’s legislative agenda and
ensuring effective committee and floor operations; and

WHEREAS,
Over the years, George Boas has given generously of his time, energy,
and abilities to assist the Ohio General Assembly, and, in so doing,
he has demonstrated a praiseworthy commitment to the success of state
government. Indeed, he has provided a valuable service by helping to
maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of the legislative process,
and without the efforts of public servants such as he, many services
which are currently available to the constituents of our state would
cease to exist; and

WHEREAS,
George Boas’ contributions to the Ohio General Assembly have been
greatly appreciated by all those who have had the pleasure of working
with him. He has displayed exceptional dedication,
responsibility, and enthusiasm in all of his endeavors, and we extend
best wishes for health and happiness in the years to come; therefore
be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend George W. Boas II for his
exemplary state service and salute him as one of Ohio’s finest
citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to George W. Boas II.
