A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
James W. Erisman on his One Hundredth Birthday.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to extend special recognition to James W. Erisman on the
auspicious occasion of his One Hundredth Birthday, November 27, 2025;
and

WHEREAS,
An outstanding Ohioan, James Erisman has spent his years both
learning and teaching important lessons, and he has garnered immense
respect. A decorated U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he entered
active service on June 23, 1944, and he served with the 30th Infantry
Division in Europe, incurring a wound in combat on January 15, 1945,
before being honorably discharged on December 31, 1946. Indeed, he
has distinguished himself as a true patriot and comrade, and for his
service, he was honored with such awards as the Purple Heart, the
Good Conduct Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the
European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze
Service Stars, the American Theatre Ribbon, and the Combat Infantry
Badge; and

WHEREAS,
In every aspect of his life, James Erisman has demonstrated
compassion, generosity, and a strength of character that have served
as the backbone of his proud and meaningful experiences. He has been
cherished by a host of dear family and friends for manifesting all
the virtues we seek to replicate, and his One Hundredth Birthday
affords a unique opportunity to praise this fine man; and

WHEREAS,
James Erisman has shown that each person possesses the potential to
make a positive impact on our society, and he has been an inspiration
to many. His years have been filled with an abundance of blessings,
and as he commences another chapter, he has the renewed opportunity
to appreciate beauty and kindness, to treasure love, friendship, and
creative work, and to anticipate the heartwarming moments that are
still to come; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud James W. Erisman on his
One Hundredth Birthday and salute him as one of Ohio’s most
exemplary citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to James W. Erisman.
