A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Lexington High School boys cross country team on winning the 2025
Division II State Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to recognize the Lexington High School boys cross country
team as the 2025 Division II State Champion; and

WHEREAS,
The members of the Lexington High School boys cross country team are
exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly
remarkable competitors. During the season, the Minutemen compiled 110
points to win the 2025 Division II State Championship. The unwavering
commitment of the runners and coaches has earned them the esteem of
many, and they are certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,
Coaches Tricia Volz and Denise Benson have demonstrated remarkable
energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in guiding the Lexington High
School boys cross country team to victory, and their skill is
reflected in the squad’s outstanding accomplishments. Due largely
to their tireless efforts, the members have distinguished themselves
on the course, and they have received respect and admiration from all
who know them; and

WHEREAS,
In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the
rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the
Lexington High School boys cross country team have gained discipline
and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;
therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Lexington High
School boys cross country team as the 2025 Division II State Champion
and honor all those who contributed to the success of this fine
squad; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Lexington High School boys cross country team.
