A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
the Beavercreek High School boys cross country team on winning the
2025 Division I State Championship.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to recognize the Beavercreek High School boys cross country
team as the 2025 Division I State Champion; and
WHEREAS,
The members of the Beavercreek High School boys cross country team
are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly
exceptional competitors. To culminate their successful season, the
Beavers compiled 107 points to win the 2025 Division I State
Championship, their first such state crown. The unwavering commitment
of the runners and coach has earned them the esteem of many, and they
are certainly deserving of high praise; and
WHEREAS,
Coach Howard Russ has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm, and
dedication in guiding the Beavercreek High School boys cross country
team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s
outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the
members have distinguished themselves on the course, and he has
received respect and admiration from all who know him; and
WHEREAS,
In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the
rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the
Beavercreek High School boys cross country team have gained
discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of
their lives; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Beavercreek
High School boys cross country team as the 2025 Division I State
Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this
fine squad; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Beavercreek High School boys cross country
team.
