A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the American Association of University Women of Toledo on its One
Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to applaud the American Association of University Women of
Toledo on the occasion of its One Hundred Twenty-fifth Anniversary;
and

WHEREAS,
For one hundred twenty-five years, the American Association of
University Women of Toledo has made significant efforts to build a
brighter future for Ohioans by working to remove gender equity
barriers and biases. Indeed, this group has aptly distinguished
itself through its advocacy for women to receive fair pay and
economic opportunity as well as through its connections with
community partners, local and state legislators, and university
bodies, resulting in effective training, education, and policy
examination; and

WHEREAS,
The American Association of University Women of Toledo has
established a legacy for serving as an important resource, and in
doing so, it has helped to build a stronger Ohio. On the occasion of
its anniversary, the organization has an opportunity to reaffirm its
goals and formulate policies in response to ongoing challenges, and
we are confident that AAUW of Toledo will remain steadfast in
continuing to value the best interests of people across the state;
and

WHEREAS,
It is through the unceasing efforts of groups such as the American
Association of University Women of Toledo that Ohio has prospered,
and we are proud to pay tribute to its initiatives, which have
reflected vision, collaboration, and promise. This organization has
worked diligently to contribute to our state’s reputation for being
responsive to the growing needs of Ohioans, and this fine branch is
truly worthy of praise; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, recognize the American Association
of University Women of Toledo on one hundred twenty-five years of
exemplary service and salute it as an estimable Ohio endeavor; and be
it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the American Association of University Women of
Toledo.
