A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Fulton County on its One Hundred Seventy-fifth Anniversary.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to pay tribute to Fulton County on the auspicious occasion of
its One Hundred Seventy-fifth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS,
This is a momentous event, and it provides an ideal time to
acknowledge the exceptional achievements of Fulton County. This
exemplary group of communities can be proud of its history,
which reflects impressive development over multiple generations, and
it has gained a well‑deserved reputation as one of Ohio’s
finest areas; and

WHEREAS,
Fulton County was established on April 1, 1850, and named in honor of
Robert Fulton, the inventor of the steamboat, and in the decades
since, its generous and civic-minded population has thrived. Indeed,
those who currently live and work in the area can take great pride in
their rich heritage, for their noteworthy initiative and vision have
had a profound impact. We applaud the county’s residents for their
commitment to the well-being of their respective communities, and
they have set an example of concerned and responsible citizenship
worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS,
Every state’s survival and stability depends upon vibrant and
durable communities, and one hundred seventy-five years after Fulton
County was founded, it continues to radiate a vitality, optimism, and
perpetual charm all its own. This is certainly a place of many
engaging qualities, and its schools, businesses, and civic
organizations have embodied and upheld the values that are
fundamental to Ohio’s success; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Fulton County on the
commemoration of its One Hundred Seventy‑fifth Anniversary and
offer our best wishes for a prosperous future; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Fulton County.
