A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
The Ohio State University spirit team as a 2026 UCA and UDA College
Cheerleading and Dance Team National Champion.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to applaud The Ohio State University spirit team on earning
first-place honors in the Division 1A spirit program - game day
category at the 2026 Universal Cheerleaders Association and Universal
Dance Association College Cheerleading and Dance Team National
Championship; and
WHEREAS,
All those who comprise The Ohio State University spirit team have
proven themselves to be talented and superbly conditioned, and they
have gained the respect of fans and opponents alike for their
enthusiastic and highly motivated performance. Throughout the season,
the outstanding members worked diligently to improve their skills,
and as a result, the Buckeyes accomplished their goals, bringing home
their third consecutive game day national championship; and
WHEREAS,
Known for their drive and determination, the Buckeyes have developed
into a remarkably efficient group of athletes whose skill is equaled
only by their exemplary display of natural ability. They are a credit
not only to their families and their school but also to the esteemed
leadership of their coach, Melissa McGhee; and
WHEREAS,
The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance,
and a positive attitude on the part of athletes and coaches alike.
The members of The Ohio State University spirit team have exemplified
all of the characteristics that are essential for success both in and
out of competition, including courage, discipline, integrity, and
good sportsmanship, and their efforts have earned them the admiration
of all those who have witnessed these outstanding athletes in action;
therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, praise The Ohio State University
spirit team on its 2026 UCA and UDA College Cheerleading and Dance
Team National Championship and extend best wishes for the years to
come; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to The Ohio State University spirit team.
