A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Lakewood United Methodist Church on its Sesquicentennial.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to congratulate Lakewood United Methodist Church on the
auspicious occasion of its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this significant milestone is a fitting tribute to
Lakewood United Methodist Church, for over the past century and a
half, it has attained a praiseworthy record of service. The
achievements of this fine house of worship are a justifiable source
of pride and an excellent reflection not only on the church itself
but also on its devoted pastor, the Reverend Robin Dillon, on its
members, and on the Lakewood community; and

WHEREAS,
The source of important social, religious, and humanitarian projects
and programs, Lakewood United Methodist Church has enhanced the
quality of life for many since its inception in 1876, and its
generous contributions have earned it the gratitude and respect of
the countless citizens it has so capably served. We are certain that
in the years to come, the church will maintain the tradition of
spiritual enlightenment that has long been its hallmark; and

WHEREAS,
The members of the Lakewood United Methodist Church have long been
actively involved in, and concerned about, area events, and this
celebration offers them a unique opportunity to share their memories
and to reflect on the benefits of life in their close-knit community.
The congregation can, indeed, be proud of their church, for they have
built on the best traditions of the past to ensure a peaceful and
robust future; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, we commend Lakewood United
Methodist Church on its One Hundred Fiftieth Anniversary and extend
best wishes for continued growth and prosperity; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Lakewood United Methodist Church.
