A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Springfield Fire Rescue Division as the 2026 Ohio Fire Department
of the Year.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to extend special recognition to the Springfield Fire Rescue
Division on being presented with the 2026 Ohio Fire Department of the
Year Award by the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of
Emergency Medical Services; and

WHEREAS,
This prestigious award is a fitting tribute to the Springfield Fire
Rescue Division, for it has achieved a praiseworthy record of
operational readiness, workforce development, and community risk
reduction while serving one of the region’s most demanding response
environments. The accomplishments of this department are a
justifiable source of pride and a fine reflection not only on the
institution itself but also on its diligent members and on the entire
community; and

WHEREAS,
The members of the Springfield Fire Rescue Division have risked their
own safety to ensure the well-being of local residents, and they have
earned the gratitude and respect of the community they have so
capably served. We are certain that as they maintain their dedication
to service, these individuals will continue in the tradition of
excellence which has long been the agency’s hallmark; and

WHEREAS,
Countless citizens in the community owe their safety, and some their
very lives, to the Ohioans who comprise the Springfield Fire Rescue
Division. Indeed, they have displayed outstanding courage and
initiative in the performance of their duties, and their enthusiasm
and devotion are truly astounding; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the members of the
Springfield Fire Rescue Division for their loyal service to the
community and salute them as exemplary first responders; and be it
further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Springfield Fire Rescue Division.
