A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Tallmadge Blue Devils wheelchair basketball team on winning the
2025-2026 OIAS State Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to recognize the Tallmadge Blue Devils wheelchair basketball
team as the 2025-2026 Ohio Interscholastic Adaptive Sports State
Champion; and

WHEREAS,
The members of the Tallmadge Blue Devils wheelchair basketball team
are exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be truly
exceptional competitors. At the 2025‑2026 Ohio Interscholastic
Adaptive Sports State Championship, the squad defeated a tough Green
team 35-16 to secure their third consecutive title and finished the
season with an 18-0 record, and the unwavering commitment of the
players and coaches has earned them the esteem of many. They are
certainly deserving of high praise; and

WHEREAS,
Coach Greg Michalec has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm,
and dedication in guiding the Tallmadge Blue Devils wheelchair
basketball team to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s
outstanding accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the
members have distinguished themselves on the court, and he has
received respect and admiration from all who know him; and

WHEREAS,
In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the
rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has
become a valuable tool. By taking part in this sport, the members of
the Tallmadge Blue Devils wheelchair basketball team have gained
discipline and perseverance that will help them in all aspects of
their lives; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Tallmadge Blue
Devils wheelchair basketball team as the 2025-2026 OIAS State
Champion and honor all those who contributed to the success of this
fine squad; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Tallmadge Blue Devils wheelchair basketball
team.
