A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Leah Nebraska as a two-time 2026 Division I State Swimming Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to commend Leah Nebraska on winning 2026 Division I State
Swimming Championship titles in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard
freestyle; and

WHEREAS,
A senior member of the Olentangy Berlin High School girls swim team,
Leah Nebraska is deserving of recognition for her exemplary
accomplishments at this year’s Division I State Meet, where she
placed first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 22.84 seconds
and the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.98 seconds. Her
noteworthy record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for
others to emulate; and

WHEREAS,
Through her participation in sports, Leah Nebraska has learned
important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good
sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her
throughout her life. Her outstanding efforts have inspired countless
people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she has set an
example worthy of the highest praise; and

WHEREAS,
In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and
nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of
individual and group effort, athletic competition has become a
valuable educational tool. With sports playing such an important part
in the development of our young people, we are extremely pleased to
pay tribute to such a fine athlete as Leah Nebraska; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Leah Nebraska on her
remarkable 2025-2026 swim season and extend best wishes for continued
success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Leah Nebraska.
