A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
the City of Parma on its Bicentennial.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to pay tribute to the City of Parma on its Two Hundredth
Anniversary, March 7, 2026; and
WHEREAS,
This is, indeed, an auspicious milestone, and celebration is
certainly in order. Since its inception two hundred years ago, the
City of Parma has experienced dramatic growth and change, and
although it has known adversity and tribulation, it also has been
favored with its share of blessings. Clearly, it is a place of many
engaging qualities, and it is thanks to vibrant, durable communities
such as this that the State of Ohio has continued to grow and
prosper; and
WHEREAS,
Two centuries after it was founded, Parma still radiates vitality,
optimism, and a charm all its own, and the city has continually
demonstrated an outstanding commitment to the virtues upon which our
nation was founded, including vigilance, industriousness, and
charity. Indeed, it has earned a well-deserved reputation for
excellence, and it has enjoyed the benefits of a generous and
civic-minded population; and
WHEREAS,
Throughout its history, Parma has been known for the friendliness of
its residents, the professionalism of its officials, and the vision
of its leaders, and those who make the city their home still uphold
these exemplary values. These fine Ohioans can take great pride in
their community, for they have built on the best traditions of the
past to ensure a future filled with hope and promise; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, extend our congratulations to the
City of Parma as it commemorates its Bicentennial and wish it the
best in the years to come; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the City of Parma.
