A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball team on winning
the 2026 Division VII State Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to commend the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls
basketball team as the 2026 Division VII State Champion; and

WHEREAS,
The Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball team has proven
to be a talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the
respect of fans and opponents alike for its spirited and highly
motivated performances. Throughout the season, the Tigers worked
diligently to improve in skill, and as a result, the team defeated a
tough Russia opponent with a score of 38-17 and brought home this
year’s state championship, the first state crown in program
history; and

WHEREAS,
Known as a driven and determined team, the Strasburg-Franklin Tigers
have developed into a remarkably efficient group of players whose
skill is equaled only by their exemplary display of teamwork. They
are a credit not only to their families and their school but also to
the superb leadership of their coach, Tyler Bates; and

WHEREAS,
The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance,
and a positive attitude on the part of athletes and coaches alike.
The members of the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls basketball
team have exemplified the characteristics that are essential for
success both in and out of competition, including courage,
discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have
earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these
outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Strasburg-Franklin High
School girls basketball team on its 2026 Division VII State
Championship and offer best wishes for the years to come; and be it
further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Strasburg-Franklin High School girls
basketball team.
