A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Waterville Branch on its
Centennial.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to applaud the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Waterville
Branch on the auspicious occasion of its One Hundredth Anniversary,
celebrated June 6, 2026; and

WHEREAS,
Recognition of this prestigious milestone is a fitting tribute to the
Toledo Lucas County District Public Library Waterville Branch, for it
has attained a remarkable record of service to the area. Established
inside Waterville Elementary School in 1926, this fine institution
moved to its current location at 800 Michigan Avenue in 1964, and
since then, it has grown into the system's most flourishing branch
and a pillar of its community; and

WHEREAS,
Time and again, the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Waterville
Branch has fostered education, culture, and individual growth by
providing a variety of innovative and beneficial programs and
services, and it has been a focal point for many civic activities and
a valuable instrument for community improvement. Indeed, it has
earned the respect and appreciation of countless patrons and has set
an example of excellence that is worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS,
Public libraries play an important role in today's society, serving
as receptacles of shared knowledge, information, and ideas. They
offer a means of enjoyment, self-advancement, and intellectual
development for all individuals, and as repositories for the best of
our nation's intellectual endeavors, they are vital to the
preservation of our country's heritage, principles, and ideals. We
are proud to note that it is through the efforts of institutions such
as the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Waterville Branch that our
state has maintained its reputation as a friendly, productive, and
pleasant place in which to live and work; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Toledo Lucas County
Public Library Waterville Branch on its One Hundredth Anniversary and
extend best wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Toledo Lucas County Public Library Waterville
Branch.
