A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
Marla Eshelman Bump on her retirement from the Ohio State Teachers
Retirement System.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to extend special recognition to Marla Eshelman Bump on the
occasion of her retirement as the director of government relations
for the Ohio State Teachers Retirement System; and
WHEREAS,
Throughout her distinguished career, Marla Eshelman Bump has
demonstrated an unwavering dedication to performing her duties and
fulfilling her responsibilities with the utmost efficiency and
competence. Previously serving in such roles as a page for the Ohio
Senate, a legislative aide for Senator Grace Drake, and a
governmental affairs representative with the Ohio State Medical
Association, she joined the staff of the Ohio State Teachers
Retirement System as the assistant director of government relations
more than twenty-five years ago, advancing to become its director of
government relations, and she has become a trusted advocate and
respected voice on matters of public retirement policy while
protecting the interests of the staff, members, and stakeholders
alike; and
WHEREAS,
Marla Eshelman Bump is, indeed, a remarkable individual, combining
civic concern with selfless initiative to become a dynamic leader in
the State of Ohio. Always sincere and energetic in her approach to
her work, she has given generously of her time and abilities far
beyond what was required or expected and has displayed a genuine
commitment to improving the quality of life in our society; and
WHEREAS,
The enthusiasm and expertise Marla Eshelman Bump has shown in her
endeavors have earned her the esteem of all those with whom she has
been associated. As she retires, she has the satisfaction of knowing
that she has provided a valuable service to our state and has
established a record of personal and professional achievement that
will stand as a hallmark for others to emulate; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Marla Eshelman Bump
on her retirement and salute her as one of Ohio's finest citizens;
and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Marla Eshelman Bump.
