A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Meyer Shank Racing as the Indianapolis 500 Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to congratulate Meyer Shank Racing on winning the 2026
Indianapolis 500; and

WHEREAS,
This remarkable accomplishment stands as a fitting tribute to Meyer
Shank Racing, whose superlative efforts made it possible. By winning
the famed Indianapolis 500 in the closest finish in the race's
history—edging out the competition by just 0.0233 seconds on the
final lap—this beloved team has proven it is deserving of high
praise; and

WHEREAS,
Fielding a successful racing team is truly a group effort, and Meyer
Shank Racing's achievements are a direct result of the exceptional
efforts of a host of dedicated individuals, including the team's
winning driver, Felix Rosenqvist, the principal, Mike Shank, the
co-owner, Jim Meyer, the vice president, Mary Beth Shank, and the
team's valued sponsors. This championship is a justifiable source of
pride and a fine reflection not only on all of them but also on the
entire staff and the company as a whole; and

WHEREAS,
As we applaud Meyer Shank Racing on this tremendous achievement, we
look forward to the continued success of this storied organization.
Truly, it has reaffirmed its place among the premier racing
organizations in the country, and we are certain it will continue to
make our state proud with its achievements; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Meyer Shank Racing on this
outstanding victory and offer best wishes for the years to come; and
be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Meyer Shank Racing.
