A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Morgan Johnson as a 2026 Division III State Track and Field Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to applaud Morgan Johnson on securing the 2026 Division III
State Track and Field Championship title in the high jump; and

WHEREAS,
This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Morgan Johnson has
clearly demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her
mental and physical fortitude as an athlete. At this year's Division
III State Track and Field Meet, she placed first in the high jump
with a leap of 5 feet, 7 inches, and she has exemplified all of the
characteristics that are essential for success, including courage,
determination, and an innate sense of the principles of good
sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS,
In displaying such exceptional prowess as a junior member of the
Woodward High School girls track and field team, Morgan Johnson has
earned the appreciation of her fellow athletes, the devotion of
countless fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals.
Competition in athletics has enabled her to learn much about
dedication and self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to
acknowledge her outstanding record of achievement during her first
year of participating in this competition; and

WHEREAS,
Track and field events require exceptional physical talent and
natural ability, and Morgan Johnson is to be commended for her
commitment to this demanding sport. In attaining her athletic goals,
she has consistently exhibited the skill and integrity that are the
hallmarks of a true champion, and she has set a fine example for the
next generation of athletes at Woodward High School; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, congratulate Morgan Johnson on her
tremendous performance at the 2026 Division III State Track and Field
Meet and look to her future with optimism; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Morgan Johnson.
