A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Kaitlyn Carr as a two-time 2026 Division V State Girls Track and
Field Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to applaud Kaitlyn Carr on winning first place in the 1,600-
and 3,200-meter runs at the 2026 Division V State Track and Field
Meet; and

WHEREAS,
Kaitlyn Carr is deserving of these prestigious titles, a tribute to
the remarkable athletic gifts and indomitable spirit that she has so
amply displayed as a senior member of the Smithville High School
girls track and field team and a five-time state champion. A
tenacious competitor, she placed first in the 1,600-meter run with a
time of 4:57.78 and in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:52.85 at
this year's Division V State Track and Field Meet, and
understandably, the strength, agility, stamina, and skill that she
has exhibited have earned her many admirers; and

WHEREAS,
Kaitlyn Carr has conscientiously applied herself to the quest for
excellence as an athlete, training diligently in order to ensure peak
conditioning. Time and again, she has risen to the occasion,
maintaining her morale, composure, and good sportsmanship, and she
has gained the esteem of all those who have followed her athletic
journey this season; and

WHEREAS,
Kaitlyn Carr's enthusiastic involvement in track and field has
enabled her to learn much about dedication, self-discipline, and
leadership, and in the process, her exceptional prowess has set a
fine example that is sure to inspire future generations of runners.
Throughout extensive practice and preparation, she has developed into
a dynamic competitor, and it is our hope that she will take the
lessons learned from these triumphs and apply them well as she
pursues her goals in the years ahead; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute Kaitlyn Carr on her
tremendous athletic achievement and commend her on an outstanding
season; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Kaitlyn Carr.
