A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Oberlin High School girls 4x100-meter relay team as the 2026
Division V State Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to extend special recognition to the Oberlin High School
girls 4x100-meter relay team on placing first at the 2026 Division V
State Track and Field Meet; and

WHEREAS,
Throughout the season, the members of the Oberlin High School girls
4x100-meter relay team have proven to be talented and superbly
conditioned individuals, and their spirited and highly motivated
efforts have gained them the respect of fans and opponents alike. At
this year's Division V State Track and Field Meet, the Phoenix
accomplished their goal and decisively won the 2026 title with an
impressive time of 48.76, and they are certainly deserving of
commendation; and

WHEREAS,
Under the leadership of their coaches, Oberlin High School girls
4x100-meter relay team members De'Shyana Freeman, Cayman Noble,
Aubrey Abeyta, and Alyssa Webb have developed into remarkably
efficient runners whose skill on the track is equaled only by their
exemplary display of teamwork and sportsmanship. They are not only a
credit to their families and their school but also representative of
the Phoenix's proud athletic tradition; and

WHEREAS,
The road to victory and a championship title is a difficult one,
requiring ability, endurance, and a positive attitude on the part of
athletes and coaches alike. The members of the Oberlin High School
girls 4x100-meter relay team have demonstrated all of the
characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of
competition, including courage, discipline, and integrity. Indeed,
they have earned the admiration of all those who have witnessed them
in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Oberlin High
School girls 4x100-meter relay team on winning the 2026 Division V
State Track and Field Championship and wish the runners and coaches
great success in all their future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Oberlin High School girls 4x100-meter relay
team.
