A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
Rileigh Scarvelli as a 2026 Division II State Track and Field
Champion.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to congratulate Rileigh Scarvelli on winning the 2026
Division II State Championship in the shot put; and
WHEREAS,
A member of the Avon Lake High School girls track and field team,
Rileigh Scarvelli has combined talent and competitive spirit with the
highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish herself as a truly
exceptional young athlete. With admirable dedication, she has worked
diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in her events, and
as a result, she placed first in the shot put with a toss of 45 feet,
3 inches at this year's Division II State Meet; and
WHEREAS,
Rileigh Scarvelli's accomplishments and leadership, both in and out
of competition, are a justifiable source of pride and a fine
reflection not only on her but also on her family, her teammates, her
coaches, her school, and her community. Her unwavering commitment to
excellence has earned her the respect and esteem of many, and she is
certainly worthy of high praise; and
WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total
education of our young people, we are overjoyed to pay tribute to
Rileigh Scarvelli on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity
and experience she has gained through her participation in track and
field will greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future;
therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Rileigh Scarvelli as the
2026 Division II State Track and Field Champion in the shot put and
extend best wishes for the future; and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Rileigh Scarvelli.
