A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Linyah Grant on winning two 2026 Division V State Track and Field
Championships.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to commend Linyah Grant as the 2026 Division V State Champion
in the girls 100- and 200-meter runs; and

WHEREAS,
A diligent and capable individual, Linyah Grant is deserving of
recognition for her exemplary accomplishments as a senior member of
the Yellow Springs High School track and field team. At this year's
Division V State Meet, she won first place in the 100-meter run with
a time of 12.35 and the 200-meter event with a time of 25.25, and her
notable record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for
others; and

WHEREAS,
Through her participation in sports, Linyah Grant has learned
important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good
sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to her
throughout her life. Through her outstanding efforts, she has
inspired many people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and she
has set an example worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS,
In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and
nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of
individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable
educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of
countless youth, we are happy to congratulate such a fine athlete as
Linyah Grant; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Linyah Grant on winning
two Division V State Championship crowns and extend best wishes for
continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Linyah Grant.
