A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
the Shelby High School boys 4x100-meter relay team on winning the
2026 Division III State Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to commend the Shelby High School boys 4x100-meter relay team
as the 2026 Division III State Champion; and

WHEREAS,
The Shelby High School boys 4x100-meter relay team has proven to be a
talented and superbly conditioned squad and has gained the respect of
fans and opponents alike for the spirited and highly motivated
performance of its members. Throughout the season, team members Brady
Bowman, Brayden DeVito, Renner Gano, and Gavin Baker worked
diligently to improve their skills on the track, and as a result, the
Whippets accomplished their goals, bringing home this year's state
championship with a record-setting time of 41.30; and

WHEREAS,
Known as a driven and determined team, the members of the Shelby High
School boys 4x100-meter relay team have developed into a remarkably
efficient group of runners whose skill is equaled only by their
exemplary display of teamwork. They are a credit not only to their
families and their school but also to the superb leadership of their
coaches; and

WHEREAS,
The road to victory is a difficult one, requiring ability, endurance,
and a positive attitude on the part of runners and coaches alike. The
members of the Shelby High School boys 4x100‑meter relay team
have exemplified all of the characteristics that are essential for
success both in and out of competition, including courage,
discipline, integrity, and good sportsmanship, and their efforts have
earned them the admiration of all those who have witnessed these
outstanding athletes in action; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, salute the Shelby High School boys
4x100-meter relay team on its 2026 Division III State Championship
and extend best wishes for the years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Shelby High School boys 4x100-meter relay
team.
