A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Mark Lorson on winning the 2026 Division III State Championship in
the high jump.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to commend Mark Lorson as the 2026 Division III State
Champion in the high jump; and

WHEREAS,
A diligent and capable individual, Mark Lorson is deserving of
recognition for his exemplary accomplishments as a member of the
Orrville High School boys track and field team. An exceptional
athlete, he won first place in the high jump at this year's Division
III State Meet with a personal best height of 6 feet, 9 inches, and
his notable record of personal achievement stands as a hallmark for
others; and

WHEREAS,
Through his participation in track and field, Mark Lorson has learned
important lessons of discipline, perseverance, hard work, and good
sportsmanship that will undoubtedly be of great benefit to him
throughout his life. Through his outstanding efforts, he has inspired
countless people to excel in various areas of endeavor, and he has
set an example worthy of emulation; and

WHEREAS,
In a society that seeks to teach the future leaders of our state and
nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the rewards of
individual effort, athletic competition has become a valuable
educational tool. With sports contributing to the development of
countless youth, we are happy to congratulate such a fine athlete as
Mark Lorson; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Mark Lorson on
winning the 2026 Division III State High Jump Championship and salute
him as one of Ohio's finest young citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Mark Lorson.
