A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Maryn Erdman as a 2026 Division V State Track and Field Champion.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to pay tribute to Maryn Erdman on winning the 2026 Division V
State Championship in the 800-meter run; and

WHEREAS,
This accomplishment is truly noteworthy, for Maryn Erdman has clearly
demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and
physical fortitude as a runner. As this year's Division V State
Champion in the 800-meter run, she has exemplified all of the
characteristics that are essential for success both in and out of the
sports world, including courage, determination, and an innate sense
of the principles of good sportsmanship; and

WHEREAS,
In displaying such outstanding prowess as a member of the Smithville
High School track and field team, Maryn Erdman has earned the
appreciation of her fellow athletes, the admiration of countless
fans, and the respect of even her most determined rivals. Competition
in athletics has enabled her to learn much about dedication and
self-discipline, and we take this opportunity to acknowledge her
exemplary record of achievement; and

WHEREAS,
Running is an event that requires exceptional stamina and natural
ability, and Maryn Erdman is to be commended for her commitment to
track and field. In attaining her athletic goals, she has excelled in
a variety of ways, and her accomplishments are truly noteworthy;
therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, applaud Maryn Erdman as the 2026
Division V State Champion in the 800-meter run and extend best
wishes for continued success; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Maryn Erdman.
