A R E S O L U T I O N

In
memory of Sergeant Scott Ries.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio send
our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Sergeant Scott Ries
on the sorrowful occasion of his passing; and

WHEREAS,
Scott Ries left an indelible impression on the people whose lives he
touched, and his regard for improving the quality of life in our
society was clearly evident in his personal sacrifices of time and
effort to his family, friends, and community. Previously serving as a
deputy with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and an officer with the
Sugar Grove Police Department, he was a ten-year veteran of the
Rittman Police Department, and he fulfilled his diverse
responsibilities with integrity, sensitivity, and the utmost
competence. He was highly esteemed by his peers, and his valiant
efforts were truly admirable; and

WHEREAS,
Scott Ries was an unforgettable man whose words and actions endeared
him to everyone who loved him, especially his family. Through his
dedicated endeavors and dependable job performance, he earned the
enduring praise and respect of his supervisors, coworkers, and peers
in the community. He was a fine ambassador for his chosen vocation,
and his numerous contributions will be remembered with pride and
appreciation; and

WHEREAS,
Scott Ries' devotion to the community, as well as his selfless
commitment to the welfare of others, distinguished him as an
exemplary human being and a leading citizen, and he will be
remembered as a spirited individual who contributed immeasurably to
the world around him. It is our sincere hope that his memory will be
a source of comfort to those who cherished him; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to this honorable man,
Sergeant Scott Ries; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the family of Sergeant Scott Ries.
