A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Julia Shafer on winning three 2025 Division II State Championship
titles in swimming.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to congratulate Julia Shafer as a 2025 Division II State
Swimming Champion; and

WHEREAS,
A remarkable athlete, Julia Shafer has combined talent and
competitive spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to
establish herself as a standout member of the Cincinnati Hills
Christian Academy girls swim team. With admirable dedication, she has
worked diligently toward attaining ultimate proficiency in her sport,
and as a result, she won first place in the 100-yard freestyle with a
time of 50.77 and the 200-yard individual medley with a time of
2:01.71 and helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team win first place
with a time of 3:28.38 and the 200-yard medley relay team in securing
second place with a time of 1:45.95 at this year’s Division II
State Championship meet; and

WHEREAS,
Julia Shafer is a truly exceptional swimmer, and her accomplishments
and leadership, both in and out of competition, are a justifiable
source of pride and a fine reflection not only on her but also on her
family, her teammates, her coach, her school, and her community. Her
unwavering commitment to excellence has earned her the respect and
esteem of many, and she is certainly worthy of commendation; and

WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total
education of our young people, we are incredibly proud to applaud
Julia Shafer on an exemplary season. Indeed, the same maturity and
experience she has gained through her participation in swimming will
greatly aid her in meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be
it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend Julia Shafer on her
personal success and salute her as one of Ohio’s finest young
citizens; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Julia Shafer.
