A R E S O L U T I O N

Honoring
Carrie Furbee on securing a 2025 Division II State Swimming
Championship.

WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to extend special recognition to Carrie Furbee on placing
first in the 100-yard butterfly at the 2025 Division II State
Swimming and Diving Championships; and

WHEREAS,
This achievement is truly noteworthy, for Carrie Furbee has clearly
demonstrated her talent and perseverance, as well as her mental and
physical fortitude as a swimmer. She was the winner of the 100-yard
butterfly at this year’s Division II State meet with a time of
53.36, setting a state record in the event and amassing her fifth
state crown, and she has exhibited a wealth of attributes that have
contributed to her success; and

WHEREAS,
In displaying exceptional prowess as a senior member of the Grandview
Heights High School swimming and diving team, Carrie Furbee has set
an example worthy of emulation. Time and again, she has risen to the
occasion, maintaining the morale, composure, and tenacity that have
earned her many admirers; and

WHEREAS,
Swimming is a sport that requires exceptional stamina and natural
ability, and Carrie Furbee is to be commended for her commitment to
this demanding activity. Clearly, her success has made her family and
friends very proud; therefore be it

RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to Carrie Furbee as
the 2025 Division II State Champion in the 100-yard butterfly and
applaud her as an outstanding Ohioan; and be it further

RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to Carrie Furbee.
