A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
the Indian Valley High School football team on securing the 2024
Division IV State Championship.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to recognize the Indian Valley High School football team as
the 2024 Division IV State Champion; and
WHEREAS,
The members of the Indian Valley High School football team are
exemplary athletes, and they have shown themselves to be exceptional
competitors by concluding a phenomenal season with a perfect 16-0
record and a thrilling appearance at the 2024 Division IV State
Championship. The Braves won the school’s first state football
title with a 37-36 victory against a determined Perkins team, and the
unwavering commitment of the players and coaches has earned them the
esteem of many. They are certainly deserving of high praise; and
WHEREAS,
Coach Matt Lancaster has demonstrated remarkable energy, enthusiasm,
and dedication in guiding the Indian Valley High School football team
to victory, and his skill is reflected in the squad’s outstanding
accomplishments. Due largely to his tireless efforts, the members
have distinguished themselves on the field, and he has received
respect and admiration for shepherding the team to the 2024 Division
IV state crown; and
WHEREAS,
In an educational system that seeks to teach the future leaders of
our state and nation the fundamentals of self-reliance and the
rewards of individual and group effort, athletic competition has
become a valuable tool. By taking part in sports, the members of the
Indian Valley High School football team have gained discipline and
perseverance that will help them in all aspects of their lives;
therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, pay tribute to the Indian Valley
High School football team as the 2024 Division IV State Champion and
honor all those who contributed to the success of this fine squad;
and be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Indian Valley High School football team.
