A R E S O L U T I O N
Honoring
the Westerville North High School boys basketball team as the 2025
Division II State Champion.
WHEREAS,
The members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of Ohio are
pleased to congratulate the Westerville North High School boys
basketball team on winning the 2025 Division II State Championship;
and
WHEREAS,
A remarkable group of young athletes, the members of the Westerville
North High School boys basketball team have combined talent and
spirit with the highest ideals of good sportsmanship to establish
themselves as truly exceptional competitors. With admirable
dedication, the Warriors worked diligently toward attaining ultimate
proficiency in basketball, and as a result, they defeated a tough
Perry team by the score of 78-46 to win this year’s Division II
State Championship, their first such title since 1994, and finished
the season with an impressive 25‑2 overall record; and
WHEREAS,
The Warriors’ achievements and leadership are a justifiable source
of pride and an excellent reflection on the players, their families,
their school, their community, and their coach, Shan Trusley. In
leading the team to victory, Coach Trusley has not only helped the
athletes to develop their talents to the fullest but also instilled
in them a valuable sense of determination, perseverance, and
camaraderie; and
WHEREAS,
With athletic competition playing such an important role in the total
education of our young people, we are extremely pleased to pay
tribute to these exemplary athletes and their outstanding coach for a
job well done. The maturity and experience the team members have
gained through their participation in sports will greatly aid them in
meeting the challenges of the future; therefore be it
RESOLVED,
That we, the members of the Senate of the 136th General Assembly of
Ohio, in adopting this Resolution, commend the Westerville North High
School boys basketball team on its tremendous 2024-2025 season and
salute the members and coach as some of Ohio’s finest citizens; and
be it further
RESOLVED,
That the Clerk of the Senate transmit a duly authenticated copy of
this Resolution to the Westerville North High School boys basketball
team.
