RESOLUTION 1026 By: McCane
AS INTRODUCED
A Resolution recognizing May 5 through May 9 as
Teacher Appreciation Week; celebrating the work of
teachers in Oklahoma.
WHEREAS, a strong education system is essential to the success
of our democratic society; and
WHEREAS, the foundation of progress made in social,
technological, and scientific fields is built by the dedication,
innovation, and hard work of teachers and educators; and
WHEREAS, Oklahoma teachers are the foundation of our education
system, dedicating their knowledge, expertise, skills, and
compassion to nurturing Oklahoma's students; and
WHEREAS, Oklahoma recognizes that quality education from
dedicated educators is vital to developing future leaders; and

WHEREAS, teachers work tirelessly beyond classroom hours to
prepare lessons, assess student progress, and support school
communities; and
WHEREAS, a skilled and caring teacher develops critical
thinking, invites curiosity, shapes character, inspires dreams, and
empowers students to be engaged citizens; and
WHEREAS, teachers are deserving of recognition for their
tireless efforts and their commitment to educating students.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
OF THE 1ST SESSION OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:
THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives supports Teacher
Appreciation Week, recognizes the significant contributions of
teachers to the children and youth of Oklahoma, and encourages the
citizens of Oklahoma to observe Teacher Appreciation Week and honor
teachers for their service to our state and nation.
