RESOLUTION NO. 1041 By: Archer and West (Josh)

A Resolution supporting the Oklahoma Secretary of
Energy and Environment's submission to the United
States Department of Energy for designation of a
Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus; recognizing
Oklahoma's leadership in advanced energy; and
directing distribution.

WHEREAS, the State of Oklahoma has long been a national leader
in the production, development, and regulation of energy resources,
including oil, natural gas, wind, and emerging energy technologies;
and

WHEREAS, advanced nuclear energy technologies, including small
modular reactors and microreactors, represent a critical component
of the nation's future energy portfolio, offering reliable and
resilient power generation; and

WHEREAS, the United States Department of Energy has established
initiatives to support the development of regional Nuclear Lifecycle
Innovation Campuses to accelerate research, development,
demonstration, and deployment of advanced nuclear technologies; and

WHEREAS, the Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and Environment has
prepared and submitted, or intends to submit, an application to the
Department of Energy seeking designation and support for a Nuclear
Lifecycle Innovation Campus within the State of Oklahoma; and

WHEREAS, Oklahoma possesses significant strategic advantages for
such a campus, including available land, existing energy
infrastructure, a skilled workforce, research institutions, and a
favorable regulatory environment; and

WHEREAS, establishment of a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus
in Oklahoma would promote economic development, job creation,
workforce training, and technological advancement while enhancing
national energy security; and

WHEREAS, such a designation would position Oklahoma as a
centrally located national hub for innovation in next-generation
nuclear technologies and related supply chains.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
OF THE 2ND SESSION OF THE 60TH OKLAHOMA LEGISLATURE:

THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives hereby expresses its
strong support for the Oklahoma Secretary of Energy and
Environment's application to the United States Department of Energy
for the establishment of a Nuclear Lifecycle Innovation Campus in
the State of Oklahoma.

THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives encourages federal
officials to give full and fair consideration to Oklahoma's
application in recognition of the state's demonstrated leadership in
energy production and innovation.

THAT the Oklahoma House of Representatives affirms its
commitment to fostering policies that support advanced energy
development, including nuclear technologies, within the State of
Oklahoma.

THAT a copy of this resolution be distributed to the Governor,
the Speaker of the Oklahoma House of Representatives, the President
Pro Tempore of the Oklahoma State Senate, Oklahoma Secretary of
Energy and Environment, the Oklahoma congressional delegation, and
the United States Department of Energy.
