SENATE BILL 1601 By: McIntosh
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to motor vehicles; requiring certain
distribution of grant or scholarship to be made in
certain proportion; providing for codification;
providing an effective date; and declaring an
emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 809 of Title 47, unless there is
created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
Any grant or scholarship to assist with the cost of a course of
instruction at a commercial driver training school from either this
state or the federal government shall be distributed without
preference to students of all such schools, whether public or
private, in proportion to the percentage of openings for students
offered by each such school in comparison with the total prospective
student population for such course of instruction in this state.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2026.

SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health or safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
