2nd Session of the 60th Legislature (2026)
SENATE BILL 1669 By: Hamilton
AS INTRODUCED
An Act relating to higher education; requiring
certain institutions of higher education to publish
certain student information on their websites
annually by certain date; requiring published
information to comply with certain act; providing for
codification; providing an effective date; and
declaring an emergency.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 3234 of Title 70, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. Each institution of higher education within The Oklahoma
State System of Higher Education shall publish on its website by
December 30, 2026, and by each December 30 thereafter, the number of
students from foreign countries and territories enrolled in the
institution, the foreign country or territory of origin for such
students, and the percentage of total enrollment comprised of
students from foreign countries and territories.

B. The information published pursuant to subsection A of this
section shall comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy
Act of 1974 (FERPA).
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective July 1, 2026.
SECTION 3. It being immediately necessary for the preservation
of the public peace, health, or safety, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, by reason whereof this act shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
