SENATE BILL NO. 433 By: Weaver

An Act relating to municipally owned utilities;
requiring waiver of certain payments for certain
widows of municipal law enforcement, fire, and police
officer officials; requiring documentation; providing
for codification; and providing an effective date.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 35-108 of Title 11, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
A. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a municipally
owned public utility shall waive all fees, deposits, monthly rates,
and any other required forms of payment for any customer who is a
widowed spouse of a law enforcement official, fire fighter, or
police officer who was killed in the line of duty while employed by
the municipality owning the utility.
B. The widowed spouse shall submit any necessary documentation
as prescribed by the municipal utility, including, but not limited
to, a death certificate.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
