SENATE BILL NO. 566 By: Reinhardt

An Act relating to assault and battery; creating
certain misdemeanor offense; providing penalties;
providing for codification; and providing an
effective date.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. NEW LAW A new section of law to be codified
in the Oklahoma Statutes as Section 650.12 of Title 21, unless there
is created a duplication in numbering, reads as follows:
Any person who, without justifiable or excusable cause and with
intent to do bodily harm, commits any assault, battery, or assault
and battery upon the person of a railroad or railway worker or any
personnel having authority in connection with the railroads and
railways of this state is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by
imprisonment in the county jail not exceeding one (1) year, by a
fine not exceeding One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00), or by both such
imprisonment and fine.
SECTION 2. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
