House
An Act relating to veterans; amending 72 O.S. 2021,
Sections 63.18A and 64, which relate to the Oklahoma
Department of Veterans Affairs and exempt positions;
removing obsolete language; providing certain
exemption; updating statutory reference; and
providing an effective date.
SUBJECT: Veterans
BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF OKLAHOMA:
SECTION 1. AMENDATORY 72 O.S. 2021, Section 63.18A, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 63.18A. The following positions and personnel at the
Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs shall be in the unclassified
civil service exempt as provided in the Oklahoma Personnel Act Civil
Service and Human Capital Modernization Act:
1. Physicians assistants;
2. Occupational therapists;
3. Physical therapists;
4. Pharmacists;

5. Speech pathologists;
6. Nurse practitioners;
7. Physical therapy assistants;
8. Administrative Assistant to the Director;
9. Programs Administrators;
10. Administrators, Veterans Centers; and
11. Assistant Administrators, Veterans Centers.
SECTION 2. AMENDATORY 72 O.S. 2021, Section 64, is
amended to read as follows:
Section 64. The status of positions that have been exempted by
executive order and positions previously authorized to be in the
unclassified service exempt from civil service rules are not
affected by this act.
SECTION 3. This act shall become effective November 1, 2025.
