A RESOLUTION
Designating the month of June 2025 as "Golf Tourism Month" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth is home to more than 500 golf
courses, ranging from historic clubs to modern public courses,
offering diverse experiences for golfers of all skill levels;
and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth's golf industry significantly
contributes to the State's economy, supporting local businesses,
creating jobs and attracting visitors from across the nation and
around the world; and
WHEREAS, Golf tourism promotes outdoor recreation, encourages
healthy lifestyles and showcases this Commonwealth's scenic
landscapes and hospitality; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has produced many distinguished
professional golfers who have elevated the game and brought
pride to this Commonwealth, including Arnold Palmer of Latrobe,
a legendary figure known as "The King," whose impact on golf

remains unmatched; Jim Furyk of West Chester, a United States
Open Champion and Ryder Cup captain; and Betsy King of Reading,
a Hall of Fame Ladies Professional Golf Association golfer with
34 tour wins, whose achievements have inspired generations of
athletes; and
WHEREAS, Designating the month of June 2025 as "Golf Tourism
Month" highlights the importance of golf to this Commonwealth's
tourism sector and encourages residents and visitors alike to
explore the State's golfing opportunities; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
month of June 2025 as "Golf Tourism Month" in Pennsylvania; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourage
Pennsylvanians and visitors to participate in golf-related
activities and support local golf courses and related businesses
throughout the month.
