A RESOLUTION
Designating October 3, 2025, as "Manufacturing Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Manufacturing is a cornerstone of this
Commonwealth's economy, generating more than $112 billion each
year; and
WHEREAS, Manufacturing is a major driver of this
Commonwealth's economy, accounting for approximately 13% of
gross State product; and
WHEREAS, Manufacturers employ more than 562,000 hardworking
Pennsylvanians in facilities across this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Additional Pennsylvania jobs are directly sustained
through supply chains, distribution networks, warehousing and
logistics tied to manufacturing; and
WHEREAS, Manufacturing careers provide above-average wages
and benefits; and
WHEREAS, Manufacturing is more than making products and plays
a vital role in shaping the future by relying on creators and

innovators to drive progress and competitiveness; and
WHEREAS, Modern manufacturing relies heavily on advanced
technology, including robotics and additive manufacturing; and
WHEREAS, Many manufacturing careers are accessible through
on-the-job training, apprenticeships, certificates or associate
degrees, creating clear pathways for students and young adults;
and
WHEREAS, Greater awareness will help attract students and
young adults to opportunities in manufacturing for professional
growth and family-sustaining work; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate October
3, 2025, as "Manufacturing Day" in Pennsylvania; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives, in conjunction
with national and State efforts, recognize the economic
contributions of manufacturing in this Commonwealth and its role
in building the workforce of tomorrow.
