A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and extending condolences to the family of
Detective Sergeant Cody Michael Becker.
WHEREAS, Detective Sergeant Cody Michael Becker gave his life
in the line of duty on September 17, 2025, at 39 years of age;
and
WHEREAS, Born in Hanover on September 19, 1985, Detective
Sergeant Becker was the son of Jody L. (Hartlaub) Becker and
Thomas Becker; and
WHEREAS, Detective Sergeant Becker was a devoted husband to
Jordan L. (Mitzel) Becker and a loving father to their children,
Canton and Wrynn; and
WHEREAS, Detective Sergeant Becker was a 2004 graduate of
Spring Grove Area High School, where he excelled as a three-
sport athlete and lead the baseball, football and wrestling
teams as team captain; and
WHEREAS, Detective Sergeant Becker continued his academic and
athletic career at Millersville University, where he became an
NCAA Division I East Regional Champion in wrestling and a two-

time national qualifier in 2006 and 2007; and
WHEREAS, After graduation from college in 2008, Detective
Sergeant Becker dedicated his life to public service with the
Northern York County Regional Police Department; and
WHEREAS, On June 8, 2010, Detective Sergeant Becker
heroically responded to a house fire, saving a family of four;
and
WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career with the
Northern York Regional Police Department, Detective Sergeant
Becker received numerous commendations and awards for excellence
during his career in law enforcement; and
WHEREAS, Detective Sergeant Becker's reputation for humility,
dedication and selfless service left a lasting impact on those
that had the privilege of knowing him; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives honor the life
and extend deepest condolences to the family of Detective
Sergeant Cody Michael Becker.
