A RESOLUTION
Recognizing October 24, 2026, as "Acupuncture and Herbal
Medicine Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Acupuncture and herbal medicine have a long and rich
history as components of a comprehensive traditional medical
system that has been used for thousands of years to diagnose and
treat illness, prevent disease and improve well-being; and
WHEREAS, Acupuncture involves inserting fine needles into a
patient's skin to stimulate the body and promote changes in
health, often to address back or neck pain; and
WHEREAS, The National Certification Board for Acupuncture and
Herbal Medicine has served since 1982 as the body that certifies
qualified practitioners of acupuncture and herbal medicine; and
WHEREAS, Millions of Americans have used acupuncture to
address health issues; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth has a variety of practitioners who
provide acupuncture, including physicians; and
WHEREAS, Practitioners of acupuncture and herbal medicine are

dedicated to the highest standards of professionalism and
maintain these standards through education, credentialing and
personal commitment; and
WHEREAS, It is vital that individuals in need of medical
services understand the full range of available modalities and
seek competent and professional care; and
WHEREAS, October 24 has been nationally recognized as
"Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Day" since 2002; therefore be
it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize October
24, 2026, as "Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine Day" in
Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge all
residents of this Commonwealth to learn more about the potential
benefits of acupuncture and herbal medicine.
