A RESOLUTION
Condemning the antisemitic firebombing attack on June 1, 2025,
in Boulder, Colorado, against peaceful demonstrators and
calling for the Commonwealth to combat the continued rise of
antisemitism.
WHEREAS, On June 1, 2025, during a Run for Their Lives walk,
which advocated for the safe release of hostages being held by
Hamas, a terrorist firebombed peaceful demonstrators for simply
being Jewish or supporting the Jewish community; and
WHEREAS, This act of violence wounded 12 people, who suffered
burns and other injuries; and
WHEREAS, The oldest victim, who is 88 years of age, also
survived the Holocaust; and
WHEREAS, Run for Their Lives is a national peaceful
organization with chapters in 35 states and several within
communities in Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Everyone should hope for the quick healing and
recovery of the victims of this violent antisemitic attack; and

WHEREAS, The Jewish people comprise 2.4% of the population of
the United States but are the victims of 67% of all religious-
based hate crimes in the United States; and
WHEREAS, Antisemitic incidents have risen by an estimated
344% over the past five years; and
WHEREAS, Many incidents have occurred in this Commonwealth,
including:
(1) the attack on the Governor's Residence;
(2) the distribution of antisemitic flyers at the
location of Tree of Life Massacre; and
(3) the attempted arson and burglary on Congregation
Mikveh Israel;
and
WHEREAS, These violent antisemitic attacks are not just
isolated to this Commonwealth, they are happening nationwide,
including the murder of two Israeli diplomats in Washington, DC;
and
WHEREAS, These reprehensible acts against the Jewish
community must end, and it is our moral and ethical duty to
condemn the hate, violence and murder of Jewish people and to
work and connect with the Jewish community to combat the rise of
antisemitism; and
WHEREAS, The Jewish community in this Commonwealth,
nationwide and throughout the world should be able to live their
lives without fear of being harassed or attacked for simply
being Jewish; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate condemn the antisemitic firebombing
attack on June 1, 2025, in Boulder, Colorado, against peaceful
demonstrators, and call for this Commonwealth to combat the
continued rise of antisemitism; and be it further

RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize and express gratitude to
law enforcement and organizations who capably respond to acts of
terrorism, antisemitism and other forms of hate; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That the Senate pledge its solidarity and
unwavering support for the Jewish community and the continued
work to combat the rise of antisemitism in this Commonwealth.
