A RESOLUTION
Designating October 3, 2025, as "Manufacturing Day" in
Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, Manufacturing is a critical sector of the
Commonwealth economy, generating more than $112 billion
annually; and
WHEREAS, Manufacturing is a leading contributor to gross
State product at 13%; and
WHEREAS, Manufacturers employ more than 562,000 hardworking
Pennsylvanians in facilities across this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Additional Pennsylvania jobs are directly sustained
by manufacturing in supply chains, distribution networks,
warehousing and logistics; and
WHEREAS, Manufacturing jobs have above-average wages and
benefits; and
WHEREAS, The modern manufacturing sector relies heavily on
advanced technology, including robotics and additive
manufacturing; and

WHEREAS, Manufacturing is not just about making things, it is
about shaping the future; and
WHEREAS, The manufacturing sector needs creators and
innovators to thrive; and
WHEREAS, Many new manufacturing jobs will only require on-
the-job training, apprenticeships, certificates or associate
degrees, offering career paths for a wide range of young people;
and
WHEREAS, More awareness is needed to attract students and
young people to look at the manufacturing sector for
opportunity, professional growth and family-sustaining jobs;
therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate October 3, 2025, as
"Manufacturing Day" in Pennsylvania; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Senate, in conjunction with national and
State efforts, recognize the overwhelming economic contributions
manufacturing makes in our Commonwealth and the ongoing
potential it has in continuing to grow the workforce of
tomorrow.
