A RESOLUTION
Designating October 28, 2025, as "Propane Legislative Day" in
Pennsylvania to highlight propane as a fuel source, as well
as the industry's important role in assisting the residents
of this Commonwealth meet their unique energy needs.
WHEREAS, Propane has been helping Americans meet their energy
needs for more than 100 years; and
WHEREAS, Propane is a clean burning and low-carbon fuel that
provides essential energy to residential, commercial, industrial
and agricultural customers across Pennsylvania ensuring that a
variety of market sectors can thrive; and
WHEREAS, Propane is nontoxic and a federally designated
clean, alternative fuel that reduces emissions and improves air
quality; and
WHEREAS, Propane is commonly used as fuel for engine
applications, including forklifts, generators, mowers, farm
irrigation engines, fleet vehicles and school buses and when
used as a vehicle fuel, propane is known as propane autogas; and
WHEREAS, Propane autogas is the most widely used alternative
fuel for school buses with Pennsylvania ranking fourth in the

United States for the number of propane-fueled school buses that
help school districts run routes, meet operational needs and
significantly cut harmful emissions while saving on costs; and
WHEREAS, America is the world's leading propane producer and
propane supports energy security, reliability and resilience,
and helps consumers meet their unique heating and energy needs;
and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania produces more than 245 million gallons
of propane yearly, 2.84% of the United States total; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's propane industry supports good-paying
jobs and employs nearly 3,000 residents working for more than
125 companies covering every county of this Commonwealth and
contributes $2.7 billion in State economic activity annually;
and
WHEREAS, October 28, 2025, has been declared "Propane
Legislative Day" in Pennsylvania and this legislative body
recognizes and celebrates "Propane Legislative Day" and the
important contributions made by this Commonwealth's propane
industry; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate designate October 28, 2025, as
"Propane Legislative Day" in Pennsylvania to highlight propane
as a fuel source, as well as the industry's important role in
assisting the residents of this Commonwealth meet their unique
energy needs.
