A RESOLUTION
Designating May 4, 2026, as "Aerospace Day" in Pennsylvania.
WHEREAS, The United States continues to be a global leader in
the aerospace industry, a sector that is experiencing rapid
growth; and
WHEREAS, Space systems, advanced manufacturing, robotics,
autonomy and artificial intelligence are all integral aspects of
the aerospace industry; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth is well-positioned to be a leader
in the aerospace industry, and its economic benefits can be a
catalyst for economic growth in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, The aerospace industry is characterized by high-wage
jobs and can revitalize regions with rich manufacturing
heritages; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania has the tools needed to be at the
forefront of aerospace innovation to compete with other states
with this Commonwealth's skilled workforce and research
universities; and

WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's world class education system is one
of our greatest assets in supporting the aerospace industry as
they provide exceptional human capital to help drive aerospace
innovation and production in this Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Workforce development in the aerospace industry
needs support, and this Commonwealth has the ability to support
it; and
WHEREAS, Continuing to develop the aerospace industry in this
Commonwealth grants the opportunity to create a talent pipeline
and attract new industries to Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, This Commonwealth continues to prioritize workforce
development, STEM education and innovation advancement, all
priorities that can be supported by advancing the aerospace
industry; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania's proximity to Federal agencies and
defense hubs provides a sound opportunity to help develop the
aerospace industry as needed for the national security; and
WHEREAS, Pennsylvania has an opportunity to position itself
as a national space manufacturing and robotics capital; and
WHEREAS, It is important to raise awareness about the
importance of the aerospace industry in Pennsylvania; therefore
be it
RESOLVED, That the Senate recognize May 4, 2026, as
"Aerospace Day" in Pennsylvania.
